Eddie sings the role of Porgy in THE JAZZ AGE on Saturday 9 November.
Eddie has sung roles in NZ, Australia, Asia, Europe and the United States of America. He is a member of the Tiroler Landestheatre, Innsbruck, Austria, and was chosen by the artistic director at the time, German mezzo-soprano Brigitte Fassbaender, who enabled him to achieve his goal of being an operatic soloist in Europe.
As a versatile performer in the arts, he has played leading roles in musical theatre culminating in a Helpmann award nomination for the role of Joe in Showboat singing the famous song, Old man river. He has also recently sung with The Toshi Clinch Big Band in Duke Ellington’s Sacred Works. Playing the role of Wotan in Melbourne Opera’s production of Wagner’s Das Rhinegold is considered the highlight of Eddie's 35-year career in opera, music theatre, television and drama.
From Porgy to Mephistopheles to Sarastro and Lepperello, Beggar, Devil, High Priest to servant, this bass has enjoyed an adventurous journey on the stage.
