WHERE CREATIVITY AND CELEBRATION COLLIDE

We’re excited to be performing alongside Fun and Funner for CubaDupa 2025 — March 29 on the Swan Lane stage!

Fun and Funner join CubaDupa after five years on the Pōneke scene with music for the tamariki that adults love too! Featuring popular NZ names such as Karen O’LearyTom WatsonLisa Tomlins, Vanessa Stacey, and Andrew Bain of Fur Patrol, and in collaboration with Orchestra Wellington, this is one unmissable set.

Fun and Funner are a kids music band who are unafraid to play challenging and sometimes frightening (yet thrilling) music, which explores the deep and profound aspects of life, such as helicopters, mermaids, sharing, apple pies, and Pooh (the best place to do it). Fronted by Karen O’Leary (celebrity officer of Wellington Paranormal and wise cracking civilian celebrity local), and Thomas Watson (local dad guy, and teacher/guitar enthusiast), Fun and Funner and their astonishing band are overqualified to goof off for 45 minutes MINIMUM!!

CubaDupa is Wellington’s free street festival. It’s a festival of colour, art, music, theatre, dance, food, and thousands of artists. As a fitting ode to the end of summer, CubaDupa is all about communal joy as familiar city streets are transformed into a vibrant celebration. Every corner of the Cuba Quarter will transform into a playground, drawing audiences in to a world of art and culture lurking right here in Pōneke.

CubaDupa showcases the most exciting and innovative art made here in Aotearoa New Zealand.
