This 2024 Orchestra Wellington Composer’s Session features Composer-in-Residence Eve de Castro-Robinson’s musings on Charles Ives' The Unanswered Question, a favourite work. She considers its meaning and unpicks its layers. Featuring musicians of Orchestra Wellington conducted by Music Director Marc Taddei, this afternoon of EVEMUSINGS at St Peter’s on Willis is sure to be a delight!

Eve de Castro-Robinson has been commissioned and performed by a wide variety of performers, including the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, the Auckland Philharmonia, with whom she was Composer-in-Residence in 1991, Chamber Music New Zealand, the New Zealand String Quartet, NZ Trio, and New Zealand Chamber Orchestra. Her output ranges from large orchestral to vocal, chamber and electroacoustic works which are performed in NZ and internationally.

She recently retired as Associate Professor in Composition from the University of Auckland, after 25 years, and now works as a freelance composer, music consultant and writer.

Eve's new composition Hour of Lead will receive its world premiere in A MODERN HERO on Saturday 7 December.
