Play Me a Story

Orchestra Wellington and Wellington City Libraries partner to support engagement in literacy and the arts with free educational performances!

Wednesday 9 – Sunday 13 October

FREE at various libraries (see schedule)

In 2024, Orchestra Wellington and Wellington City Libraries team up for the 2024 Beyond the Page festival of storytelling, taking place during the Term 3 school holidays (Saturday 28th September – Sunday 13th October).

As part of the festival, Michelle Velvin (harp) and Peter Maunder (trombone) will present FREE performances of our popular educational show, Play me a Story. Peter and Michelle perform on a unique combination of musical instruments from the orchestra as well as instruments like the guitar and recorder to bring to life a musical story that is sure to delight and engage.

Suitable for all school-aged tamariki and the whole whānau, this musical performance offers the opportunity for audiences to help the performers compose their very own musical story as part of the programme!
